The Zones are the areas surrounding Battery City where the Killjoys live. There are seven confirmed Zones, each a ring that surrounds Battery City. The Zones were frequently referenced on Twitter. For example, Dr. Death Defying once tweeted:
There are more pills produced in Battery City than grains of sand in Zone 4.[1]
The specifics of each Zone and their inhabitants are unknown. While the official map only shows six Zones, the comics reveal that there are at least seven. Citizens of Battery City are allowed to travel to the Zones[2].
